We produce the BVCA Private Equity and Venture Capital Performance Measurement Survey, in association with Capital Dynamics, it is the most detailed and comprehensive study of its type. There are now 501 UK managed funds included in the dataset and we believe this makes it the most complete country-specific survey on the investment performance of UK private equity and venture capital funds in the world.

Highlights:

  • UK private equity continued to generate positive returns for its investors in the face of the uncertain global economy, prolonged euro zone weakness and financial market volatility.
  • Over the medium to long term, taken as a whole, UK private equity outperformed when compared with other asset classes.
  • Venture capital funds, who have in the main seen a strong improvement in the underlying performance of their portfolios, have continued to generate solid returns. This is encouraging and demonstrates the critical role that venture capitalists will continue to play in promoting entrepreneurship and driving an economic recovery across the UK and the continent.
