Customer information
Following their appointment on 3 June 2009, Stephen Oldfield, David Kelly and Ian Green of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) the joint receivers and managers of Dairy Farmers of Britain Limited (DFB), announced the closure of the remaining dairies on Friday 12 June 2009. Over the following weekend, the receivers achieved sales of 5 depots (Hillsborough, Newark, Pinchbeck, Skegness and Cheshunt), but all other depots were closed on Monday 15 June.
The majority of the major customers were informed of the closure plans on 12 June 2009 and PwC contacted a number of local competitors to help customers obtain milk from alternative dairies.
A final production run of hardship stock was made for the public services on 12 June 2009. This is available for collection by the public services, on a case-by-case basis.
Customers were previously supplied by DFB, their franchisees and a number of third parties. If customers were not supplied directly by DFB and did not receive their normal milk supplies on Tuesday 16 June, they should in the first instance contact their usual supplier to determine the position. Otherwise customers will need to seek alternative supplies.
If customers require any further assistance, we will try to deal with any queries that customers may have.
