Newcastle has a fine architectural legacy dating back to Roman times, including the Quayside with its view of six bridges, and the Grainger Town area of classical buildings from the 1830's, 60% of which are listed.

Newcastle has a reputation for being a fun-loving city with a staggering 300-plus pubs, restaurants and night clubs packed into a spectacular square mile.
