Online forms
Once you've decided where you'd like to work within PwC and which route you'd like to follow, check our UCAS tariff requirements on our application timetable and qualifications page and fill in our online registration form. After completing this form you'll be invited to take some online tests.
Please make sure you’ve supplied us with full and accurate information, or we may not be able to progress your application.
Tips
- Take the time to complete your application
- Review your application before submitting
- Make sure all your information is accurate
- If you have a question use our live chat and ask us or speak to a recruiter during an event

Online assessments
You'll be asked to complete numerical, inductive (sometimes called logical reasoning) or verbal reasoning tests depending on the business area you choose and the route you take. You'll sit the tests again at the assessment day on paper and under supervision so doing them online is good preparation.
Try some sample questions plus tips on the best way to prepare at: www.psychtesting.org.uk,www.shldirect.com or www.savilleconsulting.com.
During this process, you’ll also be invited to complete our work style preference questionnaire, called the 'Occupational Personality Questionnaire (OPQ)'. This questionnaire looks at your behavioural preferences in relation to a range of different aspects of working life. It’s not about your knowledge, skills or abilities, but about how you like to do things and what approach you'd typically take and your preferred working style. As you respond to the questions, think about how you operate in the work environment. You don’t need to do any preparation prior to completing this questionnaire; instead focus on answering the questions as openly and honestly as possible. Try not to think for too long about any one question or second-guessing what you might think we're looking for. Further information on this questionnaire can be found on the hints & tips page.
You’ll have the option to complete mock assessments which include the ability tests - once only - before you take your actual assessments. We appreciate you want to show us your full potential, so we strongly encourage you to take the opportunity to do so. Please note that we’re unable to consider your performance in the mock assessments; this is not assessed by PwC and we do not have access to your results.
Your mock assessment questions will not be the same as your actual assessment questions but they are equivalent to and will assess your aptitude at the same level. For the majority of our programmes, you’ll also be asked to complete the work style preference questionnaire at the point of taking your actual assessments.
Following completion of your mock and actual assessments, you’ll be provided with personal feedback reports detailing how you’ve performed. We encourage you to review these reports to identify where you should focus your efforts when preparing to take the actual assessments or for any future applications. We also recommend reviewing the feedback provided on your work style preferences to help you prepare for any future interviews.

First interviews
This will be a one-to-one interview which provides you with the opportunity to display the qualities that paper can't do justice to. We're looking for you to provide us with evidence of the skills we're seeking as well as reassuring us that you've thought carefully about your career choice. You need to be able to demonstrate that you have a clear interest in the business world and PwC. Depending on the programme you've applied to, you'll either have a telephone interview or an interview with a PwC manager at your chosen office.
Interviews will last approximately 45 minutes and if you have a telephone interview you should ensure that you're in a quiet area where you'll not be disturbed.
For summer internship programmes, you’ll have a telephone interview lasting approximately 20 minutes.
Assessment day
This usually consists of tests that measure your numerical and inductive (sometimes called logical reasoning) or verbal reasoning skills; a written communication exercise and a group or individual exercise. This may sound a lot, but don't worry - the centre is designed to be as interesting and enjoyable as possible, giving you the chance to demonstrate your best qualities and find out as much about life at PwC as you can.
On arrival at your assessment day, you'll be asked to produce an original, government issued photo ID document (passport or photocard driving licence) so that we can verify your identity.

Final interview
This is a one-to-one interview with a partner or director from the business area you want to join. This is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your passion and enthusiasm for our business and your understanding of the importance of client service.

Offer
You shouldn't have to wait too long. We'll let you know whether we'd like to make you an offer after the final interview as quickly as possible. In total, the whole process from application to offer should take no more than four to six weeks although timings may vary between business areas.
Pass our checks
Once you accept the offer, our pre-employment screening team will verify your academics and employment history on your application. This makes it absolutely essential that you complete your application form accurately and truthfully, including all module marks, dates and grades achieved. All of the information you provide will be checked rigorously. We do not actively check against social networking sites. If you're joining a business area with government and public sector clients, further checks will be carried out in line with the Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including a criminal record check and proof of residence.
What next?
Before your start date, you may find it useful to come back for a visit. This will allow you to have a more personalised, informal chat about what to expect once you join, take a look round the office where you'll be based and meet some of your new colleagues. We also may invite you to attend an event where you can meet fellow new joiners and learn more information about your forthcoming induction.
Variations to selection process
Women in business
After the assessment centre, successful candidates will go straight to offer instead of a final interview. If you perform well during the shadowing week, we'll then ask you to undertake a final interview in your chosen scheme and area.
Oil & gas talent academy
There's no deadline for this talent academy and candidate will have online tests and a telephone interview.
Consulting - Risk
A CV and covering letter is required at the beginning of your application. After the online tests, you'll go straight to final interview stage. This will be competency based and will explore your understanding of our business and how carefully you've thought about your career choice. The interview will last around two hours and will be with a senior member of staff.
International selection process
PwC Channel Islands
Applicants will undertake the same online tests as the UK programmes, a first interview and a final interview. If you're based in Jersey or Guernsey, the first interview will take place at one of these PwC offices, otherwise, the first interview will be conducted over the telephone. If you're selected for the second stage assessment, this will always take place in one of the Jersey or Guernsey PwC offices. If you're not based in the Channel Islands, the full cost of flights and accommodation will be booked for you. The second stage process will consist of a Director/Partner interview, a general training and Island chat, a numerical test and the opportunity to meet some current trainees over an informal lunch and or dinner.
