What’s on the mind of Communications CEOs?

14th Annual Global CEO Survey - Communications

 March 2011

Communications CEOs are battling for position and revenues in a fragmenting, increasingly competitive market. But our 14th Annual Global CEO Survey has found they are still more confident than other industries that their business revenues will increase during the next 12 months.

The development of new products and services for their customers is one of their reasons for optimism: 88% of telecoms CEOs think that their company’s innovations will lead to significant new revenue opportunities (compared to 78% of the total survey population). As well as innovation, 77% say that a major objective of their IT investments is to help reduce costs and improve operational efficiency (compared to 69% overall).

However, they do expect some strategic challenges like fast changing technological innovation and shifts in consumer behaviour which are leading to issues with customer retention, service and revenue models, operational excellence, regulation and innovation.
