Global approach

We view the challenges of social and environmental sustainability as a global concern. The long term stability of businesses are inextricably linked with the issues of climate change, resource depletion, water scarcity, equitability and fair labour. All of these issues require action at global, regional and local levels.

Our material contribution to these challenges is through our work with clients, using our core skills, global network and relationships to play a lead role in developing global solutions to the problems facing the planet and our clients. As a member of this global network, PwC UK has an opportunity to make a positive impact, both in the UK and more widely.

PwC UK plays a key role in the 'central cluster' sustainability group (Eurofirm, Central and Eastern European countries, Middle East, India, Pakistan and Africa). This group comes together via conference call on a regular basis to share and collaborate on best practice. Our central, East and West clusters around the world then feed into our global sustainability group. Their responsibility is to make sure we are working effectively as one global organisation to embed sustainability values, and to positively influence our stakeholders to do the same.

The global sustainability group provides three themes as context for our strategy: education; climate change; and social inclusion and diversity. These themes serve as guiding principles for our actions ensuring that we act responsibly wherever we operate.
