Clare Marsh, senior manager, sustainability and climate change assurance services

Clare specialises in sustainability and climate change assurance services at PwC, and leads this area of expertise in the Midlands. Her career to date has focused on the provision of assurance services and development of new thinking in assurance methodology and services.

Clare has worked with a broad range of clients on corporate responsibility governance, controls, reporting and assurance. She has also provided leading edge assurance for clients on carbon accounting.

The whole area of sustainability and corporate responsibility is both complex and changing rapidly. Clare and her team can help businesses at whatever stage they’re at in their thinking: from strategy development to making the plan a reality; developing process, controls and reporting; and providing assurance.

“We are seeing changing stakeholder dynamics with investors, consumers, employees and regulators driving an agenda once dominated by Non-Governmental Organisations. Corporate regulations are demanding a formal response but there is still a lack of joined-up governance, controls and reporting framework, and infrastructure. Outside of work Clare enjoys spending time with family and friends, and is a self-confessed shopaholic! She also enjoys unwinding at the gym and has found a new sport in boxing – something which seems to unnerve some of her colleagues!
