Russia and CIS Express

Russia & CIS Express is a quarterly bulletin from our Russia & CIS Business Centre for UK companies wishing to do business in the region. It contains articles on a range of subjects, including the economic outlook and editors' views on current hot topics. Each issue also profiles one of the CIS countries and includes information on upcoming events.

In our latest Spring 2012 edition we focus on Kazakhstan, and the opportunities there for businesses and investors. The Kazakh Ambassador to Great Britain looks at Kazakhstan’s current modernisation agenda, and the country's desire to spread its wealth amongst its citizens through the People’s IPO programme; Kazakhstan joining the Customs Union with Russia and Belarussia; and London being the number one place for Kazakh companies to raise finance.

Express also discusses the long-term influence of Asian companies in Kazakhstan; the latest reshuffles in the government following the Zhanaozen events in December; and upcoming events such as the Lord Mayor’s visit in June to Almaty and Astana.
