June 2007
In this edition of Watergroup News* we consider The Competition Commission’s (“CC”) report into the merger of Mid Kent Water and South East Water and provide an update on the impact of the new Operating and financial Review (“OFR”) requirements.
On the 1 May the CC released its report and recommended that the merger should be allowed to proceed. We provide a summary of the CC’s findings along with our reaction.
Revisions to RAG 3.06 mean that Ofwat require water companies to include an OFR in their regulatory accounts for the year ended 31 March 2007. On 20 April representatives from eight water companies joined us for a round-table discussion of the new requirements and the issues that companies may face in addressing them. We summarise the key points arising.
If you would like to receive further information on any of these issues, the contact details of the team are included and we look forward to hearing from you.
