The UK Ministry of Justice published the draft Bribery Bill on 25 March 2009. This seeks to enhance the UK’s anti-bribery legislation, replacing previous offences with a general bribery offence and a specific offence relating to the bribery of foreign public officials (both of which are applicable to individuals and UK-registered companies). It also introduces a specific corporate offence of failing to prevent bribery.
