IPO Watch Europe – Q1 2006

PricewaterhouseCoopers IPO Watch Europe Q1 2006 survey shows the high level of activity on Europe's stock exchanges in 2005 looks set to continue into 2006, with a strong start to the year. The survey, which tracks the volume and value of IPOs on Europe's main stock exchanges, lists 126 IPOs in quarter one compared with the 101 recorded in the same period of 2005.

Although the offering value for the first quarter of 2006 is lower than the record €25,474m raised in the fourth quarter of 2005, the total offering value of IPOs was still 46% more than the amount raised in the same period last year (€9, 075m in the first quarter of 2006 compared to the €6, 236m recorded in the first quarter of 2005).
