IPO Watch Europe - Q4 2006 |
|
January 2007
A strong final quarter made 2006 a record year for European IPOs, with London finishing top of the league, as many international companies chose to list on the UK markets rather than New York, according to the findings of the latest PricewaterhouseCoopers IPO Watch Europe survey.
The survey, which tracks the volume and value of IPOs on Europe's main stock exchanges, shows that in the October-December period there were 212 IPOs on European markets, well up on the 126 recorded in the third quarter of 2006, and slightly higher than the 196 in the last quarter of 2005. The total offering value of IPOs was €25,713m in the fourth quarter of 2006, the highest three-month figure since the IPO Watch Survey began in 2001. This compares with the €11,808m in the previous quarter, and the €25,474m recorded in the same period of 2005.
