June 2007
In recent years, the growth in the UK’s online retail channel has consistently exceeded expectations. In 2004, for example, most forecasters anticipated that online sales in the retail sector would reach £12.2 billion by 2007. In fact, according to the latest estimates, the online sales for 2007 will be around £14 billion.
That would represent 28% growth for the last year alone. All the indications point to double-digit growth in years to come. The reality of online retail is finally catching up with the early hype.
In this video, Mark Hudson, UK head of retail & consumer, discusses the growth of e-commerce in the retail market.
