In this, our eleventh bulletin, we:

• consider further Ofwat’s proposal to introduce accounting separation requirements for companies operating in the UK water sector (i.e. between a notional retail business, network business and production and treatment business)
• consider the results of benchmarking on water company debt collection performance along with some of the issues facing the industry at a time when there is increased uncertainty on the UK economic outlook;
• comment on the recent roll call of data breaches which is focusing boardroom attention on ensuring that customers’ personal data is secure;
• publish a short summary of recent industry news; and
