Chris Jones

Chris heads our financial services practice in the UK. A partner for 20 years, Chris specialises in the audit of financial service companies. As the engagement partner for a number of leading institutions, he works closely with senior management and audit/governance committees. Chris is also the independent review partner for the UK-based operations of a number of foreign groups and has regularly chaired our financial services technical panels. He is a member of the advisory boards of the financial services faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Association of Corporate Treasures (ACT), and is a former president of ACT.

 

Andrew Gray

Andrew heads our financial services consulting practice in the UK. His team supports many of the leading financial institutions across banking, capital markets, insurance and investment management. Much of Andrew's work focuses on assisting clients in the management of their finance and operations activities, with particular emphasis on performance improvement, organisational re-design, cost reduction and risk management.

 

Damian Guly

Damian heads our financial services deals team in the UK. He joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1984 and became a partner in 1996. Damian has led numerous due diligence assignments, reporting accountant work and deal related projects for clients across all areas of financial services (life and non-life insurance, banking, consumer finance, broking etc). In addition to buy-side due diligence work, Damian has led projects on merger benefits, vendor due diligence, vendor assistance and reporting accountant work in relation to a number of flotations.

 

John Hitchins

John Hitchins - UK Banking and Capital Markets Leader

John heads our banking and capital markets practice in the UK and has been a specialist in bank auditing and accounting throughout his career. In addition to his audit duties, John has carried out a considerable amount of advisory work for banks in areas that include corporate governance, high level controls, regulatory compliance, financial reporting and international accounting standards. He has also led a number of investigations for banking regulators. John is Chairman of the Banking Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a board member of the Institute's financial services faculty.

 

Andrew Kail

Andrew heads our insurance practice in the UK. Since joining PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1990, he has worked with a number of domestic and international insurance clients, and his experience encompasses a wide range of activities including audit, regulatory and advisory assignments across the industry. In addition to his work within the insurance sector, Andrew is a member of our UK Assurance Executive with responsibilities for UK listed companies.

 

Rob Mellor

Rob heads our financial services tax markets practice in the UK. He has some 20 years of tax experience, mainly within the financial services sector, having worked for the Inland Revenue before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1998. Rob also leads our UK hedge fund practice and private equity tax teams and has been at the forefront of establishing and driving our European alternatives tax network.

 

Alison Morris

Alison heads our insurance and asset management assurance division in the UK. Alison currently audits a number of leading institutions within the sector, having previously spent many years as a banking and wealth management audit partner. In addition to her audit work, Alison has led a number of due diligence exercises, regulatory reviews and market entry surveys.

 

Richard Oldfield

Richard heads our banking and capital markets assurance division in the UK. An audit partner for seven years, his career has almost exclusively focused on the financial services sector. Richard has considerable experience of providing technical advice relating to both IFRS and US GAAP, and through his work with executive teams in several jurisdictions understands the reporting challenges faced by multinational companies. In addition to his audit work, Richard has performed a number of other assignments in recent years, including fraud investigations and advising on acquisitions, disposals and structured finance.

Pars heads our asset management practice in the UK. Pars has specialised in the asset management sector for over 20 years and has been a partner since 1995. His responsibilities include leading our service offerings to the alternatives sector in the UK and advising alternative investment clients in areas such as refinancing, listings, governance, fund structuring and audit.

 

Brian Purves

Brian heads our actuarial insurance practice in the UK, a 200-strong team based in London, Edinburgh and Manchester. Brian leads our actuarial support to the European CFO Forum and worked extensively with the Forum on the development of their Phase II IFRS Principles. He has also worked closely with a number of insurance groups to enhance the effectiveness of their financial reporting functions.

 

Michael Rendell

Michael works across HR, with a particular focus on international reward and employee mobility. Drawing on his background in tax, Michael had previously established and led our market leading industry-focused practice for HR Tax.
