Harnessing the power of data

Decision makers need to have confidence that their decisions are based in fact and underpinned by robust and defensible data.

We recognise the pressure that many organisations face in terms of making the most of their data asset in a period of budgetary challenge. Balancing the need for openness and transparency with the ability to protect and assure data is a challenge which we recognise can be very difficult but one which we have a solid track record.

PwC has a national practice of over 100 data assurance experts and practitioners. In the public sector we are working with our clients as part of the The National Archives' "Digital Continuity" initiative, to help these organisations make their data usable, accessible and secure.

As part of the "Digital Continuity" programme PwC are able to supply services under the Buying Solutions Digital Continuity Framework (RM848/L3) for the planning and execution of data conversion and data migration. e.g. converting or transforming existing data to a new target model.

This Framework, launched in January 2011 reflects increased interest and importance from government in terms of treating data as asset in service delivery and decision making.

PwC can assist you in:

  • the migration of structured data such as databases and unstructured data such as documents or diagrams;
  • providing advice relating to the migration of linked structured and unstructured data; and
  • providing data quality enhancements to improve the quality your data.
