Doing things differently

Our deliberative research into the citizens’ views gives a clear message that public money is expected to be spent more effectively and efficiently, with public services delivered to as high a standard as possible. This means doing things differently, as well as doing fewer (and potentially different) things in order to:

  • Realise real, cashable savings.
  • Be sustainable over the medium and long term.
  • Put the citizen front and centre

Workforce reform
Managing Pay
Shared Services
Revenue Income Optimisation
Place-based budgeting
Blurring the boundaries
Restructuring
Public sector pensions
Contract review
Capital receipts

Breaking down the barriers between different services and designing those services around the needs of users can both cut costs and improve outcomes.
