Higher apprenticeships - Working with young people
Higher Apprenticeships offer a new structured entry route into the professional services, enabling employers of all sizes to tap into a much broader and more diverse talent pool.
By taking on Apprentices, employers will be able to equip individuals with the blend of technical skills and broader competence they need to progress to the high skill positions in the sector and obtain the highest levels of professional status.
Learners, teachers and career advisors tell us that they need to know more about career opportunities available post A level. However, employers tell us it can be a challenge to identify and engage with schools. To help employers to engage with schools, we’ve worked with professional bodies across the sector to design a practical toolkit specifically for the professional services sector.
The toolkit is designed to provide employers, teachers, learners and career advisors with practical advice and includes guidance on how it can be used to run events and communications activity. It includes a number of interactive sessions that can be used for engaging with young people, as well as a factsheet on the Professional Services Higher Apprenticeship.
The Toolkit
This toolkit has been designed for firms who want to engage with 14 – 19 year olds to raise awareness of Higher Apprenticeships.
All of the interactive sessions are provided in Microsoft Powerpoint format to enable them to be adapted for specific sessions. If you are using any of the interactive sessions, you can add your company logo, add or change slides, adapt the activities or use the pack as it is.
We’ve split the toolkit into small sections that can be used separately or combined. You may want to use slides from a number of these sessions, depending on the amount of time you have and the objective for your session.
