As part of PricewaterhouseCoopers sponsorship of the Jane's Appeal 2008 End to End Challenge, 13 employees from the region are joining the Yorkshire section of the ride.
Over four gruelling days, the cyclists will complete an average of 50 miles a day through the rolling hills of Yorkshire.
Cyclists taking part from the PricewaterhouseCoopers include partners Mark Webster, Christine Adshead, Jon Zigmond and Randal Casson who are cycling from Carlisle to Retford.
Mike Tomlinson and daughter Rebecca are riding 1,400 miles in memory of wife and mother Jane and to raise money for Jane's Appeal.
Mike, 46, and Rebecca, 20, began their journey at John O'Groats to Land's End on July 11. They are cycling an average of 50 miles a day during their three week ride, travelling a route which will take them through Yorkshire and London.
Mike Tomlinson said:
"We are doing the ride to remember Jane. I was with Jane for her three big rides and I always said that at some point I wanted to do the End to End challenge. It feels right that we should do it this summer, to remember and pay tribute to Jane and hopefully to get over the £2 million mark for the charity. That is what we really want to do."
Mark Webster, community affairs partner in Leeds said:
"Jane's determination to succeed in the face of adversity was truly inspirational. We are delighted to support Mike and Rebecca on their latest challenge to raise funds for Jane's Appeal. Fundraising for Jane's Appeal is an important element of our commitment to Community Affairs in 2007/8. We are delighted that employees from firm will be taking part in the ride. Not only are we raising money for our chosen charity, Jane's Appeal, but it will also be a great event to bolster team spirit."
