Manchester can truly be described as the original modern city. This region was the cradle of the industrial revolution and Manchester was the first international trading city. Today, with a population of over five million people, the city region boasts a thriving business community and a vibrant social scene. Recently voted the Best City in Britain for Business, Greater Manchester is the largest economic area outside London and the South East. The city is also a leading academic destination with four universities and 100,000 undergraduates. This no doubt contributes to the fact that the city has a significant number of highly-skilled workers, with 17% of the adult population holding graduate or post-graduate qualifications.

The city has the largest financial and professional services sector outside London, and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP is proud to be part of that statistic. We've been in Manchester for 75 years, and are one of the city's leading professional services firms. Around 750 partners and staff work out of our Manchester offices, servicing a wide range of businesses and public sector organisations in the city and the region.
