PwC has just won Pensions and Benefits Consultancy of the Year at the UK Pensions Awards 2007 – the first time it’s been won by a multi-disciplinary adviser. In addition, they have also been named Employee Benefits Consultancy of the Year at the 2007 FT Business Pension and Investment Provider Awards.
Jeremy May, Midlands human resources partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, said:
“Employers and trustees have recognised that today’s wide-ranging pension challenges, for both businesses and individuals, cannot be solved by pensions specialists alone. Our success has been fuelled by clients’ needs for pensions advice accompanied by broader commercial acumen. Pension advisers had to become far more strategic and develop a curiosity and expertise around their clients’ wider business in order to provide meaningful advice.”
The judges said that PricewaterhouseCoopers is “head and shoulders above the competition, has a market leading position on deficit management and that PwC’s straightforward approach helps schemes resolve their problems quickly”.
Jeremy May continued:
“Clients are particularly seeking our help to address the complex issues around pensions impacts on deals, negotiating sensible scheme funding agreements between employers and trustees, and implementing arrangements to provide trustees with security while enabling employers to avoid trapped surpluses.”
