This month’s Business Eye magazine devotes four pages to a PwC seminar on the North’s public sector.
Chaired by BBC Politics Show host, Jim Fitzpatrick, and facilitated by PwC’s Hugh Crossey, the seminar played host to half a dozen public sector experts including SIB’s David Gavagan, Invest NI boss, Leslie Morrison and Sinn Fein Department of Finance and Personnel committee chair, Mitchel McLaughlin.
The debate around the future of the public sector and its influence on economic regeneration reinforced the role of the Investment Strategy for Northern Ireland (ISNI) in modernising infrastructure, encouraging investment and the importance of modernising government to stimulate greater value for money and improve service delivery
The conclusion? Transforming Northern Ireland won’t be easy, but the Stormont Executive needs to make it happen. For the full story, see Business Eye, pages 74-77.
