Welcome to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Northern Ireland and to the range of services we offer to those clients already here and to those considering Northern Ireland as an investment location.

With over 850 partners and staff in its six offices throughout Northern Ireland, PwC is Northern Ireland’s largest firm of professional advisors, around five times bigger than its nearest competitor.

We provide advisory services to more than 80% of Northern Ireland’s ‘Top-100’ companies, as well as being the leading provider of financial and advisory services to the province’s family and owner-managed firms. Our advisory and assurance services underpin Northern Ireland’s significant public sector modernisation programme and we are leading a number of strategic public sector reform and modernisation projects.

Northern Ireland is a remarkable region. Throughout three decades of adverse international publicity it remained one of the UK’s leading inward investment destinations. The last major survey of foreign direct investment (FDI) undertaken by PricewaterhouseCoopers, confirmed that, with less than 3 per cent of the UK’s population, Northern Ireland attracted over 9 per cent of mobile inward investment into the UK.

Our Northern Ireland practice has enjoyed significant growth over the past five years, with sales outside Northern Ireland now accounting for almost a third of local turnover. PwC’s Belfast-based International Survey Unit is PwC’s global centre of expertise for multi-lingual, multi-national survey expertise, with pensions’ administration, forensic accounting and performance improvement consulting contributing to significant growth in export sales.

Northern Ireland is currently enjoying relative economic prosperity, thanks to a combination of political stability, high levels of public expenditure and consumer confidence; it is a place that is good for business. Acknowledged as one of the most attractive investment locations in Europe, some 657 overseas-owned companies have already invested in our skilled labour, good communications and well-educated workforce.

As the business climate continues to improve, PricewaterhouseCoopers remains committed to the long-term economic regeneration of Northern Ireland and to a programme of social inclusion for its people. Over the next number of years the major challenge we all share will be to change our public sector-dominated economy into one that is private sector-led and which provides high-value added employment, sustainable employment and opportunities for all.

I hope you find this site a useful introduction to the services PwC offers in Northern Ireland and to Northern Ireland itself, whether as a possible investment location or visitor destination. We look forward to helping you, whatever your needs.
