Celene has been advising companies and trustees on pension scheme funding, financing and investment matters for over 14 years. She joined the PwC Pension Risk Management Team in 2012 which focuses on advising and implementing risk solutions and integrated risk management strategy for pension schemes. She leads the asset and liability modelling efforts within PwC and is one of the key drivers in promoting covenant-driven investment strategy on her clients. Prior to joining PwC, she was Global Head of Pensions at Barrie & Hibbert Ltd (now a Moody’s company), which provides asset and economic risk modelling expertise to pension actuarial and investment consultancies and other financial institutions such as banks, insurers and asset managers. This role gave her a unique insight into the views and practices of other pension consultancies as to how they formulate market views and assumptions and approach they took on asset liability modelling.
She is a qualified actuary. She is also the former Chair of the National Association of Pension Funds North London Group and currently chairs a research group run by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries on impact on pension schemes if an insurance-style ‘Solvency II’ regime were to apply.
