Christian Butter is a partner in our Forensic Services practice, specialising in the investigation, quantification, and valuation of damages and loss in International Arbitration and Litigation.

He has acted as an expert in a wide range of arbitral proceedings, with active involvement in over 40 cases (including ICC, UNCITRAL, DIAC and LCIA). He has given expert testimony in Dubai and Geneva, and technical fact evidence in a New York proceeding.

Christian's arbitration and litigation experience covers a variety of contract and investment disputes. He has experience of assessing quantum and advising on economic and valuation issues for the calculation of loss in cases involving a range of industry sectors, including energy, telecoms and banking, as well as the financial aspects of construction projects and IT.

He is the co-editor of the 5th Edition of Litigation Support, the PwC guide to forensic accounting and assessment of loss and damages (published December 2009). He is the editor of Dispute Perspectives, PwC's commentaries on financial and commercial issues relevant to disputes.
