Richard is PwC's UK leader of Performance Assurance, covering non-financial reporting and assurance. Richard is a Chartered Accountant and has been with the firm since 1987, and has focused on assurance related services throughout his career.  

Richard is currently working with a broad range of clients on the emergence and rising importance of non-financial reporting, specifically around reliability, accuracy and completeness of that information, and specifically providing public assurance. Examples include, working with clients on regulatory compliance, delivering third party assurance, management and stakeholder reporting, and increasingly around sustainability/corporate social responsibility as this is rising up the agenda for companies and their key stakeholders.

Richard is a key member of the UK firm's wider Sustainability & Climate Change team, and has recently taken on the lead role for sustainability assurance in the UK. He is a member of the ICAEW Corporate Responsibility Committee and also represents the ICAEW on the European Federation of Accountants (FEE) Sustainability Policy Group. He has recently led the development of PwC's methodology and approach to GHG assurance, and has actively contributed to the recently issued IAASB Consultation Paper on GHG Assurance.
