Ursula Newton is a partner in the London Capital Markets Group. Ursula hasbeen involved in capital market transactions for many years and has extensiveexperience of working with companies listing in London, including Shell(throughout the recent unification process), RHM, Inmarsat and Group 4Securicor (formed from the merger of Group 4 Falck and Securicor), the mergerof Carnival and P&O Princess and the listing of Gondola Holdings (theparent company of PizzaExpress).
Ursula is Chairman of the APB working party which produced SIR 1000 the newStandard for work performed by Reporting Accountants produced following theintroduction in July this year of the Prospectus Directive and the new UKListing Rules. She was also the author of a year-long comparative study of theUK listing rules with seven other countries for the FSA as a forerunner to theFSA's review of the rules. This study was published by the FSA in April2002.
Ursula is also a contributing author for the City & Financial manual onthe City Code on Takeovers and Mergers where she is the author of the chapteron profit forecast reporting.
