Achieving efficient carbon reduction

The introduction of a carbon price floor from 1 April 2013 is intended to stabilise the price of carbon in the power sector and encourage investment in low-carbon electricity generation.

In this video, Paul Dawson, RWE talks about the impact of a carbon price floor in the UK and his views on supporting investment in low carbon technology.

Paul believes that the carbon market is working – we are achieving the emissions cap and at a lower cost than originally anticipated. Paul also questions the impact that a carbon price floor in the UK can have when EU-wide emissions will remain the same after it is introduced.
