I joined PwC in January 2017 as an English graduate from Queen’s University, Belfast. Prior to joining, I was a special needs camp counsellor in New York and considering a career in teaching, so my move to PwC was a jump in a different direction. Despite my background I quickly fitted into life at PwC, utilising my transferable skills such as negotiation, critical reasoning and the ability to analyse and interpret large sets of data.  

For the first six months, I was an Analyst for a large investment management firm which gave me experience in conducting in-depth qualitative and quantitative financial research. I spent the next 12 months working as a Know Your Customer (KYC) Analyst on a large remediation project for an investment bank. I was given the opportunity to take on the role of Team Lead Support, engaging with various workshops to improve the project as a whole.

I’ve recently been successful in securing a role as a Business Improvement Specialist working with all projects across PwC Operate, identifying process improvements, and implementation. I’ve also obtained my Yellow Belt qualification in Lean Six Sigma and I’m currently working towards obtaining my Green Belt.

Outside my day job I’m a member of the PwC Northern Ireland Social Committee, Wellbeing committee, and GLEE (Gay Lesbian and Everything Else). I’ve also taken part in PwC's Team Leader programme training, and worked on the Change and Engagement team assisting with the move to Merchant Square - our new office home.

I would encourage anyone to consider a career with PwC as it’s opened so many doors for me, supporting me develop not only in my professional life, but also personally.
