It’s an exciting time to join us
The passion of our people, combined with access to the latest technology, helps us deliver the highest quality audits and build trust in society. We pride ourselves on our global reputation as a trusted place to do business, whilst giving our people access to the best opportunities and lots of variety through your home team, internal secondments and international assignments.
What we do
Our people are curious. They use professional scepticism to support them in the way they approach their work. They enjoy taking on new challenges with flexibility, agility and intelligence. These qualities, plus the fact we’re passionate about making a difference to our clients, set us apart in the market. At PwC our advancements in technology have ensured we're at the forefront of how audits are delivered to our clients, both onsite and virtually. Utilising this cutting edge technology we’ve developed and our ability to stay connected wherever we are, we’ve challenged the assumption that all members of audit need to be based in the same place and in close proximity to our clients.
Therefore depending on the team you join, you may find yourself travelling to client site or in some of our specialist teams, you may find that you connect virtually with your clients from your home office. Work with our prestigious client list and you’ll develop the business skills, knowledge and relationships you need to do well in a career that’s about so much more than numbers. You’ll go beyond the obvious and develop real insights into a client’s markets, technology, people and management, as well as its finances. We nurture intelligence, courage and energy and embrace diversity. Our people think independently and are confident about sharing their point of view. They draw on the breadth of their experiences and relationships to provide clients with a tailored, risk-focused approach to the audit.
What you'll do
On our Audit programme, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients and industries. You'll be hands-on straight away, working at client sites or virtually from one of our PwC offices. You’ll need to be a people person, tenacious and resilient. You’ll interview key contacts such as financial controllers or finance directors, check that data is accurate and highlight and question any differences. It's investigative work where you’ll regularly speak with clients, using in-person meetings or leading-edge collaborative technology.
As finance is at the centre of every organisation, you’ll learn about how businesses operate. You could be looking through records or putting together reports on everything from suppliers to bank records and from company cars to personnel. Above all your work is client focused, which can mean travelling to client sites and will involve working to deadlines, which often requires working longer hours to meet the needs of the client. It’s hard work but rewarding. You'll also be studying towards your Chartered Accountancy qualification, in addition to benefiting from a training programme created by our learning and development specialists. What you get out of it is the opportunity to build the skills and experience that can open many doors to you, taking your career in whatever direction you choose.
