Your role as an Auditor provides reassurance to people globally regarding the value of organisations, investments and transparency of business operations. It’s an important role within society and we’re here to support you throughout your ever-evolving Audit career.
You'll be part of client engagements straight away, working with clients either from their base, virtually, or from one of our PwC offices. You’ll need to be a people person, tenacious and resilient. It's investigative work where you’ll regularly speak with key contacts such as financial controllers or finance directors, checking that data is accurate and highlighting and questioning any inaccuracies.
You’ll be challenged along the way, but there’ll be a chance for you to really make an impact with the work you do.
Join us straight from school or college, and you’ll start your journey towards gaining a nationally recognised professional qualification with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). In England and Wales you'll also gain a Level 7 Apprenticeship across the four year School and College Leaver Programme. You’ll enjoy on-the-job training and coaching, alongside time out to study for your exams. You’ll have access to the same progression opportunities whether you join straight from school or as a graduate.
The minimum requirements are 112 UCAS tariff from up to three full A-Levels, and a Grade C or 4 or above in GCSE (or equivalent) English Language and Mathematics. For full details on all our entry criteria, please check our FAQs page.
At PwC, your career as an Auditor starts right away. Alongside the professional qualification study, you’ll join audit teams and get hands-on experience with our clients. You’ll get to know their businesses, support conversations with stakeholders and present key facts. You’ll be working with teams that challenge you, each other and management to deliver the highest quality audits. Our teams will support you and one another to put the team first and create a safe space for everyone to be open to challenge and develop both personally and professionally. Our teams take pride in their work and know that team collaboration creates a culture where everyone wants to do their best to help everyone else succeed.
Every element of the Audit contributes to the big picture and your day-to-day work on our School and College Leaver programme plays a key part in that. Imagine the pride of helping your team sign off a multi-million pound Audit and the responsibility of providing that reassurance to your client. We can help you achieve this as part of our School and College Leaver programme. We recognise each instance of audit quality, celebrating our successes and sharing our positive stories. Our Audit teams operate as one, helping each other learn through doing, and supporting everyone through challenging times.
Yes, studying and exams can be difficult, balancing client demands with evening social activities is tricky, but we have an open culture in Audit and empower our people to have a voice. We listen to what our people are saying and we’re responsive. We’ll help you in making the jump from school to work, providing guidance and support.
Our Audit teams know that success is formed from strong team relationships and so we have a strong emphasis on social activity outside of work. We also encourage our teams to take part in our volunteering programmes too, giving time back to the local communities - projects which are often led by local charity champions within the firm.
A career at PwC is challenging, but the growth and reward is unparalleled.
We’ve realigned our business to help us deliver high quality audits for our clients - you can expect to be part of a growing team where we’re investing in training, people and technology initiatives.
We’ve recently launched our bespoke Digital Quests platform for our Audit teams to learn, apply and gain recognition for their digital knowledge and skills. The platform features online challenges, with interactive, industry-based scenarios, giving you the chance to put your digital knowledge to the test in a safe, risk-free environment. It’s part of our larger focus on digitally upskilling our teams and helping them feel better equipped and more confident in exploring digital solutions with clients or internal stakeholders.
Our Ideas Refinery platform also encourages innovation and creativity and gives our people the opportunity to share ideas and to help shape the way that we do business in the future. Whether quick wins or big moves, all ideas are considered.
Our School and College Leavers of today will be leaders of tomorrow.
