Andrea Holder, is a member of PwC’s Data Protection Strategy, Law and Compliance Services leadership team. She is a Senior Manager and Senior Lawyer (qualified in South Africa) and she holds a CIPP/E qualification and is OneTrust Privacy Management Professional Certified. Andrea has over ten years’ experience working in legal practice including two years working in-house at a global Investment Bank. Prior to relocating to the UK, Andrea practiced law in South Africa. Andrea’s South African practice was primarily contentious focussed and included commercial and regulatory litigation and investigations.

Andrea joined PwC in 2015 and following the advent of the GDPR, Andrea has focused her practice on contentious and non-contentious data privacy. In respect of contentious matters, Andrea has experience in advising clients who have suffered personal data breaches and helping them to understand their breach reporting requirements. Andrea regularly assists clients in their interactions with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), and other UK regulators; whether it be as a result of a personal data breach suffered by a client or its third party, a customer who has made a complaint to the client and/or ICO about the client, or a notice issued to a client by the ICO in the course of enforcement action.

In respect of non-contentious matters, Andrea provides advice on complex legal issues. Andrea regularly drafts data protection policies, guidance, contractual clauses and training materials for her clients. Andrea has led numerous client workshops focusing on clients’ readiness to deal with personal data breaches and clients’ current state of compliance with the GDPR and . Through these workshops Andrea works with clients to highlight and remediate gaps.
