Richard Cousins

Scheme Financing Leader, PwC United Kingdom

Richard is an actuary with over 25 years’ experience in pensions, responsible for advising Private Equity houses, corporate clients and Government departments.

He has advised on sale strategy, due diligence, post deal issues and exit strategies and provided advice to the UK Pensions Regulator on the establishment of the clearance process from transactions, and the affordability of scheme funding to UK businesses.

He also provides actuarial advice to corporate clients on scheme funding negotiations with their trustees, ways to reduce liabilities and potential to buy-out/insure some or all liabilities.

He works closely with colleagues from the PwC Pensions Credit Advisory team to ensure transaction advice considers the impact of transactions on the employer covenant and how this may impact the trustees’ approach to funding and investment.
