Creativity is one of the UK’s core strengths and is a defining characteristic of our nation. UK music, television, film, games, fashion, publishing, theatre, art, design, advertising and architecture is celebrated around the world.
While Britain’s cultural and artistic heritage is therefore vital to its identity, these industries are also a source of tangible financial return for the country. Between 2012 and 2013 the growth of these industries was that of three times the UK economy, growing faster than real estate and finance & insurance sectors combined.
We aim to show the value of the Creative Industries to the UK economy and to our nation's cultural well-being. We also hope the recommendations in our report - Imagi-Nation: The business of creativity - will go some way to helping to secure a sustainable future for our very important creative sector.
