Solvency II has been with us since the start of 2016 setting out EEA-wide capital requirements, risk management standards and disclosure requirements.
The purpose of this Guide is to give users a detailed understanding of the regulatory regime for insurance companies that is introduced by Solvency II.
This is the fifth edition of this Guide and reflects all material published by 1 November 2017.
The Introduction highlights the significant developments since the previous edition of the Guide that are reflected in this updated edition.
In addition, in a number of clearly identified areas, we comment specifically on Solvency II’s implementation in the UK. This content is shown in ‘UK specifics’ boxes. These comments reflect rules, supervisory statements, consultations and ad hoc communications published by the PRA.
The Guide is structured into 11 chapters, each of which explores a distinct area of the Solvency II regime.
The Chapters of the Guide are:
The insurance expert, who needs to keep up-to-date with changes in the regulatory environment; and anybody involved in the application of any part of the Solvency II regime.
The fifth edition of the guide has been updated from the fourth edition. Users should therefore obtain a copy of the updated Guide to ensure they are up to date with the current requirements of Solvency II.
