Energy 2020

Who will be the winners?

The UK energy supply industry is facing its biggest shake-up since deregulation. Companies in the sector are being put under unprecedented pressure to develop winning strategies.

Outlining the disruptors affecting the energy industry

With new competitors and technological innovation inspiring enhanced products and services, energy suppliers need to adapt quickly if they want to retain their customers and their trust. However, a number of the capabilities they need to adapt for the future market – being customer-centric, innovative, being digitally advanced and operationally excellent – are not those traditionally associated with the utilities sector. To be a winner an energy supplier must decide now how far it is willing and able to change.

Our Energy 2020 series explores recent developments in the energy landscape and the capabilities that energy suppliers will need to win in a rapidly changing market.  In the latest update, we focus on the digital and data capability that we believe is required to succeed. We call this becoming digital normal.
