PwC’s Retail and Consumer Hub based in Central Square, Leeds, hosted our annual Christmas Trading review Retail Breakfast Briefing Event on 27 January 2017. Our panel of retail sector experts led by Lisa Hooker and Kien Tan came together to discuss how the UK retail sector performed over the peak trading period in 2016.

The panel discussed key trends and issues for the sector to address in 2017, including logistics, innovation and data and analytics.

The event provided key insights for leading UK retailers and consumer businesses around consumer confidence and spend, the economic outlook and key trends that are expected to dominate retailing in 2017.

The keynote speaker was Rob McWilliam, formerly VP of Amazon UK who presented on disruptive innovation in retail.
