Celebrating your return to campus

Participate in our Scavenger Hunt using Web-based Augmented Reality (webAR) on your phone to find out more about us and enjoy being back on campus.

The autumn scavengerhunt is now closed.

This year, we’re coming to your university through WebAR and the even better news is, there’s a chance you could win some exciting tech bundle prizes with the grand prize being a brand new electric car!

Tech is changing the way we live and work and we want our people and our clients to be at the forefront of that change. Through our Scavenger Hunt and our Virtual Park, we want to show you how we do business. Purpose sits at the heart of our strategy and helping organisations improve their impact on the environment, and on society, to become more resilient, agile and sustainable is what we do best.

Join a tech-connected community collaborating on some of the world’s most challenging issues. Explore more through our WebAR portals at your university and build your skills in new and unexpected ways.

You’ll need to find us first.

General

The prize draws and grand prize draw for university students taking part in the PwC Recruitment Activities are being held by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, the limited liability partnership registered in England under registration no. OC303525 and with its registered address at 1 Embankment Place, London WC2N 6RH, (“PwC”).

The prize draws and grand prize draw are free to enter and no purchase is necessary.

Entry to the prize draws

There will be two prize draws and one grand prize draw. One prize draw will be held in Autumn 2021, and a second prize draw will be held in Spring 2022.

To qualify for entry into a prize draw, students must have completed a “Campus Scavenger Hunt” by collecting all six available in-game tokens from the portals, in accordance with the relevant in-game rules. Entry to a prize draw is by submission of a google prize draw entry form. The link to the entry form will be made available by PwC to participants who complete the scavenger hunt.

Scavenger hunt participants who have completed PwC’s Autumn 2021 Campus Scavenger Hunt will be eligible to enter the Autumn 2021 prize draw. Participants who have completed the Spring 2022 Campus Scavenger Hunt will be eligible to enter the Spring 2022 prize draw. Entrants to the Autumn 2021 prize draw will not be eligible to enter the Spring 2022 prize draw.

All entrants to a prize draw will be automatically entered into the grand prize draw.

The prizes

Entrants to a prize draw will have the chance to win one of up to four “tech bundles”. A total of eight tech bundles will be awarded across the two prize draws. In each prize draw, a winner of a tech bundle will be selected each week for four weeks. Entrants may enter a prize draw even after one or more weekly winners have been selected. Entrants will only be eligible to win prizes for which a winner has not yet been selected (see the “Winners” section below for more details).

Each tech bundle consists of the following (or reasonable equivalent alternatives): (i) an Apple iPhone13, (ii) Apple Airpods and (iii) either (a) a Fitbit Charge 5 or (b) a Facebook Oculus Quest 2 (at PwC’s discretion and subject to availability).

Entrants to the grand prize draw will have the chance to win a BMW Mini Electric.

In all cases, prizes will only be awarded to entrants who meet each of the following ten Eligibility Criteria.

2. No entry forms will be accepted by agents, in bulk or from third parties.

Insofar as is permitted by law, PwC, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of PwC, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Entrants’ statutory rights are not affected.

Frequently asked questions

How does the scavenger hunt work?

Use the map to find 6 portals around your campus. Walk to a pin location, then tap the button on screen to place the portal. Explore the content inside, and be sure to collect the knowledge token. Once you've collected all 6 tokens, tap the button to enter the prize draw!

What prizes can I win?

If you complete the scavenger hunt, you'll be able to enter to win a Tech Bundle.

Each tech bundle consists of the following (or reasonable equivalent alternatives):

(i) an Apple iPhone13

And (iii) either:

(a) a Fitbit Charge 5 or

(b) a Facebook Oculus Quest 2

Not all Universities contain portals. If you are physically located nearby to another University that is on the list, then you're welcome to select that University instead in order to participate.

Can I complete the scavenger hunt across multiple sessions?

Yes! However, if you're using Private Browsing or Incognito, your progress will be lost once you close the tab or refresh the page. So if you need to take a break, ensure that you aren't in private browsing, so that your portal-collection progress can be saved.

What phones are supported?

The scavenger hunt is supported on phones newer than iPhone 7 and Android phones 4 years old or newer.

What happens if I can't access one of the portals?

Drop us a message via the HELP button to let us know if you're finding that one of the POIs is inaccessible.

Why have you created the scavenger hunt?

The scavenger hunt is designed to be an immersive, engaging experience for students and graduates who are keen to learn more about employment opportunities at PwC.

Can I complete the scavenger hunt more than once?

Yes absolutely, you can complete the scavenger hunt as many times as you like, however you can only enter the final competition once.

Are teams allowed?

Definitely! While progress is tracked individually, we highly encourage you to scout out portal locations together.

Do I need to download an app to participate?

No. You can participate by visiting www.scavengerhunt.pwc.co.uk or scanning our QR code.

Do I need to sign in to participate?

No. Once you’ve reached the website you will be prompted on screen on how to start the experience.

Do I need to allow my GPS location to be tracked to participate?

Yes, in order to get the full experience we will request access to your GPS location. We only use this data while you are enjoying the experience to power the map.

Do I need to allow access to my camera?

Yes, in order to get the full experience we will request access to your device camera. We do not record or store information from your camera.

When can I do the scavenger hunt?

The Scavenger hunt is available from 18 October 2021 to 12 November 2021.

We recommend playing this during the daytime, please avoid evenings and night-time for your own safety. Do not drink and play.
