PwC UK's Head of Energy, Utilities and Resources, Steve Jennings, comments on OFGEM's publication of its decarbonisation action plan which has been produced as the UK looks to meet its net zero carbon target by 2050:
"OFGEM’s decarbonisation action plan is an important step to enable the UK to reach net zero by 2050. It recognises that changes are needed to the regulatory framework - and the way Ofgem itself regulates - if the UK is able to minimise the costs of decarbonisation by optimising the energy system. The UK needs a plan for making the low carbon system of the future more efficient to enable everyone to get more from less."
