Approaches to BACSL clients by third parties claiming to be from PwC or The Share Centre and requesting to be paid a transfer fee
The Beaufort Asset Clearing Services Limited administration team has identified BACSL clients being approached by individuals claiming to be representatives of PwC or The Share Centre Limited (“TSC”). These individuals are fraudulently requesting money is transferred to them in order to have clients' holdings moved to TSC, the proposed nominated broker.
These individuals are not acting on behalf of the administrators or the proposed nominated broker and we strongly advise clients to disregard any requests of this nature.
Clients are advised to contact PwC via the official channels below if they are approached, or require further guidance.
Phone: 0800 063 9283 (UK) or +44 (0)20 7293 0227
The Special Administrators would like to remind clients that no information has been shared with third parties with the authority of the administrators and any such callers are not acting on behalf of the administration team.
As outlined in the press release published on 8 August 2018 the administrators aim to commence the transfer process for a large proportion of the client assets and client money to the principal nominated broker TSC at the end of September 2018. Further information on this prospective transfer will be provided as soon as possible and there is no need for clients to take any action regarding the transfer at this point in time.
