Building on its flexible working policy, PwC has given its 23,000 people the freedom to take up to two bank holidays at a time that suits them. The policy was announced to staff in September, effective from 1 October 2021.
Ian Elliott, chief people officer at PwC, comments:
Our people consistently tell us they appreciate flexibility, and that’s been behind our entire approach to hybrid working. Our bank holiday policy is a natural follow-on, and acknowledges we have a diverse workforce who don’t all celebrate the same things.
That said, we recognise there’s something special about days when most people are on holiday at the same time - you’re less likely to be disturbed by work, and there’s more opportunity to see family, friends and neighbours. We’ve tried to strike the right balance by giving people flexibility to swap two bank holidays rather than all of them. Our people seem to like the approach, with some take-up over the Christmas period.
At PwC, our purpose is to build trust in society and solve important problems. We’re a network of firms in 156 countries with over 295,000 people who are committed to delivering quality in assurance, advisory and tax services. Find out more and tell us what matters to you by visiting us at PwC.
