PwC strengthens pensions team with partner and director promotions

Jul 15, 2021

PwC UK has announced the promotion of Katie Lightstone to partner in its pensions employer covenant and restructuring service.

Katie has led PwC’s covenant advice to pension scheme trustees and sponsoring employers for the last 12 years, including some of the largest and most complex in the UK. She leads PwC’s covenant proposition to non-associated, multi-employer schemes.

Lauren Baba and Anthony Rushworth have also been promoted to director in PwC’s pensions employer covenant and restructuring service, while Gavin Sharma and Roshni Patel become directors in the firm’s pensions advisory practice.

  • Lauren leads the advice for sponsors in the financial services sector. More recently, she has been involved in leading PwC’s covenant proposition in relation to Pension Consolidator transfers.
  • Anthony joined the PwC Pension Employer Covenant and Restructuring team in 2011 and has advised some of the largest defined benefit schemes in the UK.
  • Gavin has led complex strategic projects for some of the pensions advisory practice’s largest multinational and FTSE 250 corporate clients since joining PwC in 2013, partnering closely with key stakeholders at group level.
  • Roshni leads our growing DC Pensions and Benefits consulting practice, responsible for the delivery of strategic and technical advice, tailored to our corporate clients and their employees.

Jonathon Land, head of pensions and business restructuring services at PwC, said:

“I’m absolutely delighted to announce the promotion of Katie as a partner and Lauren and Anthony as new directors.

“I have worked with Katie for over ten years, she has fantastic experience leading PwC’s advice to both pension scheme trustees and sponsoring employers. Both Lauren and Anthony will bring their breadth of experience and specialisms to their new director roles. These promotions come as we solidify our pension team to cater for growing demand from businesses as they emerge from the pandemic and assess their options for the future.”

Martin Hodgson, pensions advisory leader at PwC, said:

“I’m delighted to congratulate Roshni and Gavin on becoming newly promoted directors. These promotions demonstrate the strength of our business and the great opportunities to help our clients in a wide range of areas and expertise.”
