PwC UK appoints new Head of Private Business

03 Feb 2022

PwC UK has appointed Emma Suchland, a Partner in its Manchester office, as Head of Private Business. Emma’s new role will see her head up the firm's 650+ strong private business team.

At a time when the UK’s privately owned businesses are managing fundamental challenges to the way they operate, Emma brings a wealth of experience and passion to play a pivotal role in supporting the firm’s clients.

For almost 25 years, she has worked with entrepreneurs on operational tax matters, compliance and governance, international expansion, funding structures and refinancings, as well as bolt-on acquisitions and disposals.

Following the announcement, Emma Suchland, UK Private Business Leader, said she was extremely proud to take on the role:

“It’s an exciting time to be in this role and support the UK’s private business owners as they manage the demands of environmental, social and governance issues. Their dominance of key sectors of the economy is such that if they make these issues a priority, they can change the world.

“Over the last few years the tenacity and resilience of our entrepreneurs has been needed like never before. The conditions we face have inspired not only them but also our own people who have responded with agility and creativity. As we go forward, I’m excited to see how much more we can do together with our clients.

“Privately-owned businesses are the lifeblood for many of our communities - I’m committed to bringing the best of PwC to our clients and help them take advantage of the opportunities that this ever-changing world is creating.”

Kevin Ellis, Chairman and Senior Partner of PwC UK, said:

“Capitalising on different skills, experiences and perspectives of leaders across our business is core to our strategy. Our focus remains the same - bringing the strength of our people, capabilities and technology together to solve important problems, build trust and deliver sustained outcomes for our clients and communities.”
