PwC has named Stuart Couch as the new senior partner of its Cardiff office, replacing senior Tax partner Chris Williams, who will continue to lead the firm’s UK Managed Services business in Tax.

Stuart, who grew up in Pontypool, joined the firm’s Welsh practice in 2014, having previously worked at PwC in London since 2001. Stuart is a partner in the firm's audit practice and works with businesses across a wide range of industries and ownership models, from owner-managed businesses through to private equity and listed groups throughout Wales and the West of England.

PwC’s Cardiff office expects to see significant growth in the short term, with headcount forecast to be driven by Operate, the part of the firm which delivers managed solutions as well as transforming and running complex operational processes.

Stuart said:

Stuart Couch

“We’re at the beginning of a really exciting period of change and growth in Cardiff; the firm’s strategy is to balance its business geographically and create high-skilled jobs in areas where they will contribute most to addressing regional disparities across the UK. Our Cardiff office will be at the sharp end of this strategy over the next few years and I’m very proud to be able to lead our office through this period.”

John-Paul Barker, PwC’s Market Leader for Wales and the West of England, said:

“Congratulations, Stuart! PwC’s most important long-term differentiator is our culture; it’s how we recruit and retain the most talented people. As our market senior partner, Stuart will be key to creating and maintaining a culture of inclusivity and diversity, nurturing our talent as we navigate a period of rapid change.”
