Jason Clarke, Private Business Wales and troubleshooter
There are not many long term relationships that span more than a century. SA Brains, the family-owned Cardiff-based brewery established in 1882, has worked with PwC for a lot of those, from the beginning. Now, we’re not suggesting for a moment that Jason is 100 years old (that would just be plain daft), but PwC is. And it’s fair to say during that time we’ve become a sounding board and put our heads together on lots of things.
Take for example Brains’ acquisition of Coffee One. Brains were considering options to diversify. They wanted to talk things through, mull over ideas and get some challenge and feedback from someone who really understands their business. So, they talked to Jason who listened. Not only did he listen to their plans for growth, Jason introduced them to a company from his local network, a small chain of coffee shops based in Wales, Coffee One. And the rest, as they say, is history.
"Myself and the business has enjoyed a long working relationship with Jason and PwC and over the years this has proved invaluable as Jason’s working knowledge of the company has enabled him to act very proactively in respect of accounting changes and strategic business opportunities."
