Hello and thank you for joining me. I would like to share with you some thoughts on how data is changing the world and the work of tax departments. There are huge amounts of data out there which, together with the abilities we now have to analyse and visualise are generating new opportunities for businesses and for the tax function. This volume of data has the potential to be a world of pain but it doesn’t have to be if you can get to grips with 3 things:

  • Firstly the external landscape is orchestrating a shift from it’s ok we get there in the end to needing right first time data. So what does right first time data mean for you?
  • Secondly, companies are starting to adapt their ways of working to respond to this shift and the increased burden it brings on tax departments, how are you approaching this?
  • Thirdly, more and more of your data is out there. What does this mean for your organisation and your external stakeholders? What’s the plan?

Check out our thinking in these areas.
