Umang Paw: We’re approaching technology in multiple different ways but primarily we’re bringing our tech, data, AI and engineering capabilities together with our functional expertise as well as our industry experts. Tech Catalyst really enables us to bring innovation to our clients. But it's not just innovation, it's innovation combined with the engineering capabilities to bring the innovation to life and deliver the business outcomes for our clients.

Ben Lingwood: So we're bringing together a very diverse set of technology experts from the firm. We've got the Cloud and Data Engineering team, really important that we bring in that expertise of how Tax, or Audit, or Deals, or Consulting work independently. They bring all of that knowledge, in addition to things like the R&D team that sits inside that.

Rosie Hall: It’s understanding, what problems are we trying to solve as a business? How can we harness technology to go about solving those in new and interesting ways? And how do we rapidly bring that to life, prototype and test it with people to see what that can look like and whether it works or not?

Nina Ginbey: This is where running that research function, being able to rapidly provide that technical insight is hugely valuable. We deploy our satellite team to get whatever the new technology is deployed on PwC infrastructure to try and turn it around in 24 hours.

Sanjay Patel: When you're doing these kind of platforms or using these tools, you've got to have the right data platforms behind it, you get in what you get out.

Amyn Jaffer: Actually building products from the ground up, we call it ‘Zero to One’, to me is the most exciting part of it. That is where you get the real innovation, you get the real groundbreaking stuff. It's only when you bring the expertise, the subject matter expertise of those practitioners that are out there speaking to clients on a daily basis, and you bring that in and combine it with technology to develop products that you get the real magic.

Ben Lingwood: We can build those innovative technology solutions to bring to clients but that's just the nucleus, that's just the start. You spend 1% of your time putting something in the implementation, 99% of your time operating it, improving it, updating it, it's a continuous innovation cycle that's going to need business brains, technology brains as well as obviously new technology coming out and it keeps going around in loops. We've got the ability to build those solutions to take into the industry.

Sanjay Patel: We want to show, and bring, and build use cases and show to our clients this is what you could be doing to completely disrupt your market.

Umang Paw: So Tech Catalyst is going to be embedded in everything that we do across all of our business and therefore we're able to take Tech Catalyst and the Data, AI and engineering capabilities directly to our clients to deliver business outcomes.

Nina Ginbey: We've built out a very robust procedure and set of pipelines that means that our data is ready to go, our business problem is ready to go. It's basically saying new model drops, we can then deploy it and run it in that vein.

Ben Lingwood: Our job is one of translation, that translation story from business to technical and back again. It's never just tech for tech sake, it's always bringing technology in to answer business issues.
