Benchmarking is an important part of how we measure our performance and continually challenge ourselves to innovate and improve.
Taking part in awards schemes is one good way to maintain rigour in our data collection processes, to benchmark our programmes, and to gain valuable feedback from established external bodies. It also helps our stakeholders to gauge how we’re doing against our sustainability strategy.
We retained the highest possible rating, 5 stars, in Business in the Community’s (BITC) 2016 Corporate Responsibility Index. The CR Index is the UK’s leading voluntary benchmark of corporate responsibility, assessing how successfully businesses are integrating responsible practices into their strategy and operations. We scored over 99% in their index of some of the country’s leading businesses.
We won the 'Buy Social' Market Builder Award at the UK Social Enterprise Awards 2017, with Brigade Bar & Bistro winning the award for Education, Training & Jobs Social Enterprise of the Year.
BREEAM Offices 2008 Cert: BREEAM 0050-5099
Our Embankment Place office achieved the BREEAM Outstanding rating in 2014 following its refurbishment, with the highest ever score at that time. It joined our new build More London office which achieved the Outstanding rating in 2012. We’ve also relocated our Leeds office to the first BREEAM Outstanding multi-tenanted building.
Having held the Carbon Trust Standard since 2009, we were one of the first organisations to achieve the Carbon Trust ‘triple crown’ of certificates for good carbon, water and waste management, which we have held since 2013.
We were one of the first businesses to achieve the Carbon Trust Supply Chain Standard in 2015, and reached the ‘Level 2’ standard in 2017.
We won the 2degrees award in 2014 for best internal engagement with our online training course, ‘Think Sustainability’. This helps our people and contractors to consider the sustainability implications of their work.
For a record 14th year running we were voted the UK’s top graduate employer by final year students, in The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers survey.
We’ve been recognised as a leader in workplace gender equality again in The Times Top 50 Employers for Women 2017. The unranked list, which includes public and private sector employers and organisations, is published in The Times in partnership with Business in the Community.
We're in BITC's Best Employer for Race Listing for 2017. It identifies UK employers who are creating inclusive workplace cultures for black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people and taking action in at least one of three areas - leadership, progression and recruitment.
We were ranked in 19th place by Stonewall in its 2017 Top 100 Employers Index - an annual audit of workplace culture for LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) staff. Additionally, our inclusive business network, GLEE (gay, lesbian and everyone else) has recognised by Stonewall for its contribution to LGBT equality and inclusion.

We've been recognised as a 'rated' supplier in the Chartered Institute for Purchasing and Supply's Sustainability Index. This provides our clients with another independent accreditation of our sustainability performance.
