PwC Social Entrepreneurs Club - terms and conditions

These terms and conditions, together with the PwC Social Entrepreneurs Club privacy statement, will govern your registration with the PwC Social Entrepreneurs Club.

In these terms and conditions, the following words have the meanings shown below:

“Club” means the PwC Social Entrepreneurs Club;

“Eligibility Criteria” means the criteria under which an individual is eligible for registration with the Club, as set out on the Website and as amended by PwC from time to time at its discretion;

“Event” means an activity or event organised and held by PwC and/or our partners for Club Members;

“Parties” means the Member and PwC;

“PwC” or “we” means to PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, the limited liability partnership registered in England under registration no. OC303525 and with its registered address at 1 Embankment Place, London WC2N 6RH;

“Member” or “you” means an individual who has applied for registration with the Club upon the terms and conditions contained herein, has satisfied the Eligibility Criteria and has been registered with the Club by PwC at its sole discretion;

“Website” means PwC Social Entrepreneurs Club webpages on the PwC website (PwC Social Entrepreneurs Club).

Background
  • The Club is part of the PwC’s Community Engagement programme and aims to provide information and events to social entrepreneurs across the UK.
  • Individuals who would like to apply for registration with the Club are invited to submit their registration details through the Website and agree these terms and conditions (subject to PwC’s acceptance of the Member to the Club).
  • PwC will review all applications for registration with the Club and will register those who, in PwC’s opinion, satisfy the Eligibility Criteria. Registrations are at PwC’s sole discretion.

Terms & Conditions

1 Registration

1.1 You agree to the terms and conditions contained in this Agreement.

1.2 Registration to the Club is free and there is no charge to you.

2 Benefits

2.1 We shall, at our sole discretion, offer various information, Events and discounts to you, which may include the following in each case subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement:

2.1.1 Newsletters and emails with information and opportunities of interest to social entrepreneurs;

2.1.2 Opportunities for mentoring and coaching from PwC volunteers;

2.1.3 Invitation(s) to masterclasses and online webinars (web-based seminars) hosted by PwC and/or our partners in areas of interest to social entrepreneurs;

2.1.4 Invitation(s) to enter awards hosted by PwC or and/our partners of interest to social entrepreneurs;

2.1.5 Invitation(s) to networking and learning events hosted by PwC or and/our partners; and

2.1.6 Special offers and/or discounts with various third party organisations.

Further details of the benefits we offer to Members are set out on the Website. All benefits are offered at our sole discretion and may be amended from time to time.

3 Events

3.1 Members will be informed of any relevant Events hosted by PwC and/or our partners by email and newsletter.

3.2 You agree to comply with any necessary health and safety regulations and security policies applicable to any Event attended.

3.3 We shall not be responsible or liable in any way for the cancellation of an Event for whatever reason. If you have signed up to attend an Event but are unable to attend, you must notify PwC at least 48 hours prior to the Event.

4 Special Offers

4.1 Any special offers and/or discounts with third party organisations will be accessible by Members by request.

4.2 In presenting any special offers and/or discounts, PwC is not vouching for the quality or cost-effectiveness of any of the goods or services concerned, nor is it endorsing the third party organisation concerned.

5 Liability

5.1 The information and materials on the Website and any information and materials presented or discussed by PwC in Events including but not limited to webinars, masterclasses, mentoring, coaching, networking events or otherwise in relation to the Club, is for general guidance on matters of interest only, and does not constitute professional advice. All such information and materials are provided ‘as is’, without any warranties of any kind. PwC makes no representations and disclaims all express and implied warranties and conditions of any kind in relation to such information and materials. Whether or not advised of the possibility, we shall not be liable to you for any kind of loss or damage that may be suffered or claimed by you (or any person claiming under or through you) or to any third party, which arises in connection with such information or materials or the Club, whether such losses or damages are suffered directly or indirectly or are immediate or consequential and whether arising from negligence, breach of contract or otherwise.

5.2 Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits any person’s liability for (i) death or personal injury caused by that person’s negligence; (ii) that person’s fraud; or (iii) anything else that cannot by law be limited.

6 Intellectual Property

6.1 PwC owns the intellectual property rights in the information and materials it creates and uploads onto the Website, or otherwise provides to the Members in relation to the Club. The Member will have a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use such information and materials for the term of this Agreement.

7 Data Protection

7.1 You agree to the PwC Social Entrepreneurs Club Privacy Statement (Privacy Statement) Please email us at: uk_social-enterprise@pwc.com if you wish to amend or delete any information submitted to us as part of your Club Membership.

8 Term and Termination

8.1 This Agreement shall commence on the date PwC registers you to join the Club, and shall continue until either party terminates your registration by written notice to the other party. Members may send notification to uk_social-enterprise@pwc.com.

8.2 PwC will conduct an annual review of Club membership; Members who have not taken part in Events for the period of one year will be sent a review email and may be removed from the Club.

8.2 PwC may at its sole discretion terminate the Club in its entirety on one month’s written notice to all Members, such notice to appear on the Website.

9 General

9.1 The Club consists of a range of information and Events provided by PwC at its discretion to Members. It is not in any manner an unincorporated association, society or club. The rights and obligations of the parties are as set out in this Agreement.

9.2 These terms and conditions may be revised from time to time. If they are revised, PwC will email Members to notify them of the changes and the amended terms and conditions shall appear on the Website. The Member’s continued membership shall be deemed acceptance of any changes to these terms and conditions.

PwC Guest Wireless Network

Internet Use Policy and Disclaimer

The PwC guest wireless network (the “Service”) is made available to guests of the firm to enable them to establish a wireless internet connection from their computers, telephones or other wireless devices for any acceptable use.

Acceptable use

Guests are permitted to use the Service in an acceptable manner, in compliance with any applicable legislation and regulations. Guests may not download any executable programs (eg self-extracting zip files) or program modules (eg software applications or applets) or install any executable attachments onto PwC computers or other PwC property. 

Guests are responsible for their use of the Service, and PwC does not seek to restrict any reasonable and legal activities they undertake. PwC reserves the right to require guests to stop using the Service at any time and for any reason whatsoever.

Security

Guests should take all reasonable security measures in using the Service, such as use of encryption, passwords, screensavers, privacy screens and lockleads.

PwC does not accept liability for any adverse effects due to virus or other malware infections of guests’ equipment whilst using the Service. It is recommended that guests take their own precautions in this regard, for example by using good quality firewalls and virus protection software, regularly updated.

PwC respects your privacy, but reserves the right to monitor internet traffic and sites visited for the purposes of ensuring acceptable use of the Service; the specific content of any transactions will not be monitored unless there is a suspicion of improper use.

Quality of the Service

This Service is provided for the convenience of guests and, whilst PwC aims to maintain it to a high standard, no warranty is made regarding its quality, availability or reliability.

Charges

No charge is made by PwC for this Service and guests are responsible for any charges they incur from third parties whilst using this Service.
