Artificial intelligence in Health Hackathon

Healthcare is evolving. Capitalising on the vast amounts of data available, as well as cutting edge technology, means fantastic opportunities to revolutionise the sector.

However, change can be hard and investing in the right technology to tackle your business challenges can be daunting and time consuming.

On Thursday 30th November and Friday 1st December we will be running a two day hackathon focused on utilising artificial intelligence (AI) in Healthcare to help you drive efficiencies in your organisations, leading to cost savings with improved patient care.

What is a hackathon?

A hackathon brings together health and technology specialists to create new and innovative business solutions in a short time frame.

Over two days you will have the chance to bring your business problems to some of the brightest minds in technology, with a view to developing prototypes of solutions you could embed in your organisations.

Who will we be working with?

During the hackathon you will be working alongside developers and analytics specialists from PwC. Combining technical and sector experience, these experts will help you unlock the potential of your data and discover new ways to incorporate AI into your operating model.

How can I apply this technology?

The possibilities are endless. Simply bring your challenges and an open mind to see what you can create. Some possible applications could be:

• Assistance with treatment decisions.

• Automation of treatment consultations.

• Reducing screening time for clinical trial.

• Automating reports to identify at risk patients.

• Reducing re-admission rates through discharge planning.

Who should attend?

To successfully implement change healthcare organisations need to pull all their resource together. We encourage each organisation to bring a team of staff that cover clinical care, operational management and change specialists:

  • Operational experts who will use technology in their day to day lives to support the delivery operational and specialist services
  • Clinicians who will use new technology in their day to day lives to improve patient care
  • Change and Transformation specialists will be working with colleagues to develop and implement new effective care solutions

This is a unique chance to work with some of the brightest technological minds in the region to explore and develop the latest technological advancements. You will also hear from Alder Hey Childern's Hospital on their journey embedding AI in their organisation. Representatives from Alder Hey will be sharing their story, practical learnings and benefits to assist you throughout the event.
